David came to Florida in 1971 after graduating from The University of Cincinnati College of Law and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He practiced for a short period of time in general practice in Xenia, Ohio before taking and passing the Florida Bar. David started his legal career in Florida at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted the full spectrum of criminal cases from homicides to the most minor misdemeanors.
After 7 years with the State Attorney, in 1977, he joined the prominent criminal defense firm of Varon and Stahl, and continued, now on the defense side, representing multiple public officials, judges, and other clients in state and federal court. His current practice, J. David Bogenschutz & Associates, P.A. was formed after a lengthy stint as senior partner of Bogenschutz, Dutko & Kroll, P.A., and he has long been considered the preeminent criminal defense attorney in Broward County and South Florida.
Jaclyn Broudy is a proud graduate of Florida International University College of Law. During law school, Jaclyn interned for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office in the Death Penalty division, and then clerked for the Honorable Judge Michael I. Rothschild in the Broward County Circuit Court Criminal Division.
She was a Certified Legal Intern at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office working on all first degree felony cases during her second year of law school, and then went on to the West Palm Beach Public Defender’s Office working in the misdemeanor crimes division. Jaclyn is currently a member of the Young Lawyer’s Section of The Florida Bar, and a member of the Criminal Law Section.
Jaclyn’s practice is focused on state and federal criminal defense, and she is licensed to practice law in all circuit and county courts in the State of Florida, as well as federally in the Southern District of Florida and Northern District of Florida.
